The KGTS Story

I was out of work. Had a young family. Instead of looking for work, I did something crazy. I used my life savings and wrote a book I didn’t know how to write. It took 6 months to produce Khadijah goes to School. It was a family project and the kids illustrated it. After publish, we went on a book tour. It was a new time.
I’ve met some beautiful people along the way who I’ll never forget. And in a lot of ways, I’m just getting started now, all these years later. Afterall, I’ll always be a student, and I have a lot of homework to still complete…
10 Years Later…
I still believe in the message of Khadijah goes to School.
KGTS’s theme is “Helping Yourself and Helping Other People.” In the story, young Khadijah learns that trying to get through life is all about learning so she could help herself and then naturally, others.
Giving is the core of what I am trying to investigate through my work. To celebrate 10 years of KGTS, today I want to learn what Giving means to you.
I wish this journey will never end. I wish to be an instrument that can create change, even if it’s just a little bit. I hope you can join me. What does Giving mean to you?#givingworldtour
